Why do we sleep?

SUMMARY:
Russell Foster, argues that an average person spends 36% of their lives sleeping, that is if you live 90 years, 32 year old had asleep; which means that sleep is important. But over the decades, every time we sleep less, do not give due importance.

Why do we sleep?
Ø  The Restoration: All things and spend Daytime recover overnight, a series of genes are active during sleep and helps the Restoration.
Ø  Conservation of Energy: save calories while we sleep.
Ø  Cerebral process and memory consolidation: After learning something  deprived of sleep a person, the ability to learn is drastically reduced. Sleeping  at night increases our creativity.

What if our brain is tired?
Ø  Micro-sleeps uses, that is to say falling asleep involuntarily.
Ø  The brain craves things to wake, like drugs and stimulants. For example resorting to caffeine.
Ø  And when we want to sleep, but we can not (for stimulants taken) we turn to alcohol to achieve it.
Ø  If we sleep less than 5 hours then we have a 50% chance of obese.

What are the causes?
A major loss of sleep is because of stress, people are massively stressed tired. Constant stress leads to suppressed immunity and tired people tend to have higher rates of infection in general.
Stress increases heart disease then the blood pressure rises.
There are a number of problems associated with sleep loss that are slightly damaged brain, which is where most think that resides that loss of sleep.

Finally, what do to sleep?
Ø  Avoid light half an hour before bedtime, lower the lighting in our room.
Ø  Avoid look in the mirror while we clean our teeth.
Ø  Shut things that stimulate the brain, ie turn off cell phones, computers etc.
Ø  Do not drink too much caffeine in the afternoon, ideally not after lunch.
